This is a beautifully easy meal to serve when you have guests over. You can prep everything before hand, then cook the apples while serving dinner and pop it in the oven 30 mins before you wish to eat! Awesome when having guests over so you don’t need to fucking slave in the kitchen all night.
Ingredients
Peeled Apples – 4
Lemon Juice – 1 tablespoon
Sugar – 2 teaspoons
Plain Flour – 1/3 cup
Oats – 1/3 cup
Brown Sugar – 1/4 cup
Cinnamon – 1/2 teaspoon
Nutmeg – 1/2 teaspoon
Salt – Pinch
Butter – Enough to rub around the pan and break off over the dry crumble rub
Method:
Set the Anova Sous Vide to 84ºC (183 F)
Peel and cut your apples into wedges. Place in a bowl with the lemon and sugar a coat. Put in a large vacuum bag. Seal the bag on the moist setting. Make sure you don’t have your apples lying on each other. Keep them as one single layer. Pop your bag into the sous-vide bath and leave for two hours.
When apples are nearly done, heat the oven to 180 and butter your ramekins, you can do one big pan as well if you wish. In a bowl, mix together the flour, oats, brown sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt.
Open your apples (tipping out the water) and place the apples and blueberries in your ramekin and top with dry mixture. Break off bits of butter and place them over the dry mixtues, make sure they are covering each section somewhat.
Place in the oven for half an hour or until the top is golden brown!
Serve with ice cream or cream
